Parish Mission during Lent

Father Joachim Giermek, OFM Conv., will lead the Parish Mission. He will preach at the Masses the weekend of February 27 - 28. The Mission will be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings following the 7:00 pm Mass.

The topics are:
Monday - Knowing for Certain What God Wants Out of Me in Life
Tuesday - Finding God in the World Around Me
Wednesday - Facing My Death and Resurrection


Friar Joachim Anthony Giermek, OFM Conv. (b. 04.02.1943, Buffalo, NY) entered the Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor Conventual (founded by St. Francis of Assisi, 1209) at Ellicott City, MD, in 1960. Following studies in Massachusetts and presbyteral ordination in Rome, Italy (12.23.1969), he returned to the United States in 1970 to pursue graduate studies at Georgetown University (philosophy) and St. Bonaventure University (Franciscan Spirituality). After years as a professor and director of continuing formation, he was recalled to Rome in 1983 to represent the Order's North American and English/Irish Conference. In 2001 he was elected the 118th successor of St. Francis with the title of Minister General (superior general) of the Order's 4,500 members spread throughout 77 countries in the world. Having returned to the United States in July, 2007, he is currently on sabbatical.
